the disneyland railroad the magnificent trains at disneyland, with their authentic steam locomotives, differ from other disneyland attractions because they are constantly visible throughout the magic kingdom. walt disney designed his park so that in each land, vantage points exist that showcase the colorful locomotives as they proceed around disneyland's perimeter, dozens of times a day. walt made sure that the steam trains send a magical message to us, even as we leave our parked cars and hurry toward the main gate, our day at the magic kingdom already begun. later, in line for the haunted mansion, we watch enthralled as one of the four powerful locomotives "blows down" a roaring plume of sideways steam while in frontierland station. we're surprised how well the sparkling bright locomotives fit in as they thread their way though the mechanical motions of fantasyland's it's a small world... and how correctly they contrast the past with the future in tomorrowland on their way to the dark dioramas beyond. the hollow "chuff" of steam exhaust, the soft tone of the bell as the train rolls into the station, the locomotive's whistle blowing twice as it pulls away... these pleasant sounds form a background to our other activities regardless of where we are in our favorite theme park. walt disney had confidence in the receptivity of park guests to these historic and fascinating steam trains. he's proven right every day as the trains of the disneyland railroad continue to attract an incredible 68% of all who visit the park. the description: from the e-ticket. the script: prior to the opening of the festival of fools. the trains: (coming soon) learn about walt's carolwood pacific: join the fan club here. all things thurl: a tribute to the voice of the disneyland railroad (and tony the tiger). special thanks to the e ticket #19, from which this information was obtained. page created by: tk421@ix.netcom.com changes last made on: mon jan 13 12:16:11 1997
